What is an Anarchist Information Technology? Part 1

As my wife says to me, "Spew, you're not an anarchist. An anarchist is someone who lives in an anarchist society. The most we can say of ourselves is that we aspire towards anarchism." In that vein, I will not talk about an "anarchist information technology." Such a technology would have to be the product of an anarchist society, responding to such a society's needs. The best I can do is to talk about technologies that could aspire to anarchism and may be useful as a stepping-stone to a true anarchist technology.
